Solutions introduction
E-Day has asked as many organisations as possible to offer new, simple, effective or useful solutions to climate climate.
As a result, the following initiatives have been offered by some of the UK's biggest energy companies, charities, retailers, energy advisors and other well known organisations and individuals as their contribution to E-Day.
E-Day will report back on the uptake and effectiveness of each of these offers next year.

Insulation (wall + loft) : free and heavily subsidised offers
E-Day is pleased to be working with energy companies to offer a quick and easy way to access subsidised loft and wall insulation. If you are on qualifying benefits or you are over 70 you could get insulation installed free.

Positive solutions : Charities
Some of the UK's biggest environment and development charities have proposed positive solutions to climate change as their special contribution to E-Day. The charities that have porposed ideas and activities for E-Day include including Greenpeace, The RSPB, The Woodland Trust, Tearfund, Christian Aid, the BTCV, The Ashden Awards and the iCount campaign.
A well known journalist, George Monbiot, has also proposed an imaginative and practical solution, which has been included in this section.

Energy labels: Tesco
In support of E-Day, Tesco will be extending its use of energy efficiency labelling to a wide range of electrical items. These labels will also include the estimated cost of use.

Technology : Energy Saving Trust - top tips
The Energy Saving Trust (EST) has offered to highlight some for ways of reducing your energy bills and greenhouse gas emissions.
Their advice covers topics such as insulation, making the best use of heating controls, how to use appliances more efficiently and how to reduce the work being done by your existing heating / hot water system by using solar energy to partially warm your heating / hot water.

1 million tonnes of CO2 target : Together.com + partners
Together is a campaign designed to help you do your bit and save a whole tonne of CO2 before you’ve even realized it.
They work with some of the biggest brands in the UK to deliver practical things you can do.
